The best way to acquire links from forums is to actually participate in their community. While it's true that most forums will block you if you include your website URL, others will allow forum signatures and others will allow you to post your URLs after you make a certain number of posts.

Don't try to get links in a hurry thro' forum posting. Join forums or discussion boards related to your theme or industry. Participate in discussion and build retutation amoung the members. Dont forget to have a avatar for yourself, which will provide you uniqueness compare with other users. Have your links in your signature. You can expect traffic from now on.

You need to build up credibility in the forum. I find that a lot of forums expect you to make at least 5 -10 posts before they allow you to add you URL in your signature block.

Forums are for people who are interested in a subject to give and get information. So participate and you will get your opportunity to put your URL in the forum.

If you want to get onto page one of Google you need to work on getting good quality links into your site.

Forums are not for submitting link of your site. For that you need to earn credit on forums. You have to help people over there and also have to share your knowledge.

In return they allowed you to place your link in signature. But for that you have to build up your credit.
