How can i do theese things on gimp?

the gimp 2.0 software. how do i use this?? i would like to move my text to a certain place but i don't know how to do it. could someone please help?! also if you know how i can overlap pics to make like a collage that would be great.

To move a text, select it from the layers menu, then select the "select" tool and click on your text and drag it to where ever you want.

To overlap pics, place each pic as a different layer and using the select tool, move them to wherever you want.
