When im downloading a torrent file, the download is 90 kb/s which is normal for my connection. But when the upload increases, the download speed goings down. The upload goes to 10-15 kb/s, then the download goes to 10 - 20 kb/s. Why is that? I researched more about torrents. I read something saying that the more the upload the faster the download, or the more you give, the more you get. IM CONFUSED...

  1. Get a faster internet connection.

  2. well upload speed is always a lot slower than dl speed. Anyways a lot of torrent programs will offer download speed incentives for seeding torrents.

  3. don't check your monitor often and do something else and come back after 1 hr or so.

  4. Port forward

  5. right click on the torrent and go to bandwith allocation i think it is and set it to high it will go fatser than usual and make sure you download something with alot of seeds that also makes it go a little faster

  6. when you're choosing a torrent, pick one with the most seeders

  7. utorrent has an option that gives higher priority at seeding rather than downloading... check if this is the problem

  8. Well, as above answerer posted, that makes sense. But you might have torrenting upload ports blocked to begin with, making your torrent uploads uberslow, thanks to your ISP.
