How can i dvr something on my home tv when im not home?

i know you can do it with tivo, but is there a way to dvr a program at my home television when i'm on vacation for example? thank you! 10 points for best answer!

As far as I know you can only do it with Tivo. I would check the web site with the provider you have.

If you have DirecTV, you can schedule a recording over the internet or even your mobile phone.

probably not.  What you could do is record it before you leave.  Then it will record while you are gone.  Look at the guide that shows a list of programs at all times of the day, or you should be able to type in the show you are looking for.  Then hit record.  You then should be able to choose to record just that episode or all episodes or new episodes.
