How can i edit a movie dvd using windows movie maker?

I want to use a movie to edit in windows movie maker but don't know how to get it into movie maker. I put my dvd in the drive but i can't get it to go in. Please, any help would be brilliant, thank you.

windows movie maker is slow and buggy. i recommend against using it for editing dvds. instead use something like sony vegas.

You need to rip it first. Get a DVD ripping program then import the video file, but I seriously recommend you use proper editing software and not crappy Windows Movie Maker, it's ****.
