How can i export my family tree from Family Tree Maker 2005 to my new tree on Ancestry.com

I have just started a family tree on Ancestry.com, of which i am a member. How can i export my tree which is on Family Tree Maker 2005 to my new tree on Ancestry.com which i have just joined. I can download from FTM 2005 (GEDCOM) but can't transfer it to Ancestry.com Any help most appreciated

Hi, I had the same exact problem a few months ago, and am away from home on vacation currently, so don't have the exact steps with me right now.

I do know that I was able to resolve it easily by going to FTM's technical support page and entering a "ticket" telling them the error I was getting, etc.  Within 24 hours, I received an email reply telling me this was a known bug, and they provided me step-by-step instructions on what I needed to do.  Perhaps you could search for my question and corresponding answer there, OR submit a new question to them.

Go to your account on ancestry and then Home.  You will be shown what trees you have and/or a link to create a new tree or upload a gedcom.  You can upload your gedcom that way.

They've been tweeking the site so it looks different from time to time.
