  1. RAR is a compressed format like zip.

You need a program that is capable of extracting.

    Try http://www.rarlab.com/

  2. A .rar file is an archive (just like a .zip file)

To extract it you need either WinRar

    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

    Or I recommend WinACE.

    http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=...

If you go with WinACE download the 2.5 version. It has all the functionality of the newer ones, but the newer ones constantly bug you to register while the 2.5 and before do not.

Both WinRAR and WinACE work quite nicely, I prefer WinACE simply because it support many more types of Archive (.tg, .tz, .ace, .zip, .rar, .iso, etc.) It is basically an All-in-one unzipper

Good luck and enjoy your tunes!
