i just purchased 3 upside down catfish. they're in perfect health, all behave normally, (hide all day, swim all night) but my question is simple: how can i feed them? they don't come out when i put in flake food, and they don't show interest when i throw in a cube of tubifex worms in. the only idea i had was to throw in some sinking wafers after i turn off the light. they appear to be alright for now, as they graze off the underside or ornaments, but i hardly think its enough

  1. Feed it tiny pellets, i feed mine betta pellets, it starts to get active and eat when the light is off, but it will come up to eat too sometimes when the light is turned on.

If you have other fishes in your tank, catfish will not be able to eat it before other fishes, thus, it is better to feed it at night when it is dark.

  2. mine will come to the surface during the day and eat flake food, don't feed them tubifex worms , feed them sinking carnivore pellets at night when you turn the lights off, i do that also. they love them. if there not coming out to eat during the day they must not be that hungry, maybe they just need some time to ajust and feel safe and secure in their new surroundings, then they will come out more during the day, mine do and swim all over the tank i have had them 3 years.
