How can i find a direct wholesale supplier with out going thru middle men.?

i search on the web but all i find is middle men charging me a fee for a list of wholesalers or web sites that charge me about 25% more on top of the wholesale price im looking to opening a dollar store or urban retail store selling music,jewlery,fashion,foot wear and im having a hard time finding direct contacts some please help me and my wife
