  1. I don't want ethanol either.  It's waistful and to fill up an SUV with ethanol would be enough corn to feed a person for a whole year, and the people really suffering from this are third world countries.  The prices on staple foods are going up because some gas company CEO said "hey this is a great idea". There is also no proof that it's even helping the whole "global warming" theory.  I can't find a gas station that doesn't combine ethanol and it's really getting annoying.

  2. If you found out what oil company refined the gas you might be able to poke around on the web and find out.  The analysis of the gas would be hidden somewhere.

If you live in a place that has ethanol mandated by laws your only choice would be to find a race fuel supplyer.  Just be carefull you don't get leaded gas.

  3. ALL gas has 10% ethanol it's required by law. MTBE (oxidizer) was outlawed last year and has been replaced by ethanol. be patent and every station will be carrying E-85 and E-100 soon, which by the look of things will be $1-2 cheaper than regular gas.

  4. you are going to have a very hard time finding one...

bush signed a bill recently that allwoed all stations to put 10% ethonal in their gas instead of the 5 they had before... soon it will be 15

  5. E-mail them if you can not find it.

  6. The federal government mandates that gasoline require a certain level of oxygenates. This used to be MTBE, but that has now been replaced by Ethanol. So you probably won't be able to find gasoline without ethanol, especially if you live in a major urban area that is required to have reformulated gasoline.

  7. Every gas station has ethanol.

Why wouldn't you want it in your gas?

Cars can run on it alone.

But gas station's mix it because it makes more profit.

  8. Gas has has 10% Ethanol in it for many, many years.  Only now have they started putting stickers on the pumps telling you so.

In short your choice is funding foreign oil dependence from countries that hate our guts or funding our own farmers/crop growers that feed us and (now) will fuel us.  A no brainer.

PS: It is a myth that using ethanol will starve us. Most of the corn is left over (in DDG) after the ethanol process is over and it is fed to cows as feedstock.
