How can i find a relatives full name?

I want to know the name of someone who is already dead, how can i find any information?

Hi, if you know the person's first and last names, do a Google search with an asterisk * between the names, like this example:  john*doe

That will give you instances where there is a John Doe with a middle name listed on the web.

If your relative's name is very common, you can put some other fact in your search like this example:

"john*doe" oklahoma payne

(that will narrow down your search to the city and/or state where your relative lived, if any records exist on the web)

If you'd like to list your deceased relative's name and approximate dates (birth and death) and state in which they died, many of us would be willing to try and help you find the full name.

*****Start with Social Security records, if they collected social security. It may, or may not, have the full name.  If that doesn't work, and you know the death date, look for an obituary, number two.  If that doesn't have a full name, check the courthouse for a death certificate, number three.  

But your best bet, is to ask!  Ask a close relative of the person the the person who's name you are seeking.  Perhaps they know!
