  1. rays place doesn't serve alcohol you have to bring your own ,but its in humberside so would be a bit out of your way

  2. Ignore the idiots, I think its nice you doing that.

try doing a goole search for Lancashire non alcohol restaurants. I found quite a few

"If you don’t quite know what you fancy for dinner, Sizzling Palate is a good choice, as the menu features Indian, Chinese and steaks. Under new management, this Bradshawgate eatery recently received a stunning facelift. The ultramodern décor features a water sculpture and space-age lighting. A word to the wise: there’s no alcohol served or permitted here, so you’ll have to get your aperitif at one of the many bars, pubs and clubs nearby. It’s open for lunch daily from noon to 2:30 – a midday buffet is £6 – and open for dinner from 5 to 11."

    Blackburn: Shahi Qila

The Sultan of Lancaster - Lancashire, England  (Muslin restaurant so may depend on your colleague's religion)

    Earth

    16 - 20 Turner Street

    North Quarter

    Manchester

    Lancashire

    Buddhist restaurant

  3. You can go to a normal restaurant. Its up to him not to drink! its a bit selfish of him don't you think? Alternatively there is always McDonalds.

  4. Try by searching the web. You might get some luck and then you will be sure about where you are going.

  5. www.noalcohol/pubs/restaurants/wtf.?/.co...

    hope this helps

  6. look up the restaurants on the net or in the phone book. Find an asian inspired restaurant and call then to see if they serve alcohol if it isn't listed on the net or in the phone book.

  7. That is just plain stupid and another reason why religion sucks.

  8. you need an un-licensed restaurant.. no license no alcohol...

good to see open mindedness isn't dead eh? take no notice of these muppets giving you stupid answers about "fitting In"

  9. I don't think they exist, not in the UK anyway.  Do you think if you were in Asia he would go to the trouble of finding you a restaurant which does serve alcohol.  They are visiting the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland after all and should abide by OUR cultures, just as we would if we were over in their country.  Oh and for the record there is no religion on Earth that condemns it's followers for sitting in a restaurant that serves alcohol, that's just silly,  i have muslim friends and this is not true.

  10. many fast food joints don't

a local city council maay be able to answer

some places may have lost their license and can't

  11. Look in the yellow pages under..restaurants..then BYO...simple..

(hint..Don't take any with you)...If he is Asian...all you can eat or banquet restaurants are what they love..variety.)......chow.

  12. They don't have to drink the stuff just because it's being served.

  13. Harry Ramsdens Fish & Chip Restaurant.

Many newly opened resturants will not have a license for alcohol as they need to have been trading for 6 months before they can apply for the license.

  14. Try Mc donald's or burger king

  15. Come to Utah!!! here you'll find many restaurants that don't serve al cohol. Even grocery stores cannot sell it!!!

  16. Just because a place sells alcohol doesnt mean he has to drink it !

  17. From memory, there's the Shaki Qila in Blackburn and the Bukhara Restaurant in Preston. I expect the majority of suitable places will serve Indian/Asian cuisine.

If you fancy something a little different you can always go down the alternative route - Green's Restaurant in Didsbury, Manchester (not sure if this is a little out of the way) is unlicenced and serves only vegetarian and "ethical" dishes.

    Something to consider, anyway.

  18. If you had of lived in london could have been more helpful

  19. Why don't you get your friend to pick the restaurant?

To be honest, they should just go to a normal restaurant and your friend shouldn't drink.  Why should all but one of your party have someone's religion rammed down their throats.  If 9 out of 10 drink, then it's the 1 out of 10 that must deal with it - regardless of the reason (religion, health, alcoholism).

  20. Look through your phone book and call some places up and ask if they serve alcohol. If they do then maybe they know of a place that dosen't.

  21. people can be so inconsiderate sometimes,

if you want to take your friend out for dinner to a restaurant where there's no alcohol try the Internet or the yellow pages.

just think about your friend and the lovely night you will have and that's all

or simply ask him where he would like to go it'll be easier for you maybe he knows some good restaurants where they don't serve alcohol.

    It's a win/win situation.=-)

  22. Sod going out, have the dinner party at home.  Your guests can be tasked with making each of the dishes and they can bring it all to your place.

  23. Just go to any restaurant... noone forces him to drink alcohol...

  24. If its wrong for him to be in an establishment that serves alcohol, then what is he doing in a country that permits alcohol???

He is being selfish, and will ruin your night out. sorry.

PS:-  Why do Asians, including Muslims (like in my local Indian) who own restaurants serve alcohol without any problem???

  25. I have two suggestions:

    1) Call your local branch of Alcoholics Anonymous.  They might know.

    2) Call your local Muslim mosque.  Tell them that you have a friend who will not eat at a restaurant that serves alcohol.  Add that since you know that Islam forbids the drinking of alcohol, you thought you might call them since they might know of some restaurants that do not serve alcohol.

  26. Why not try Mcdonalds or even Burger King. Or what about those food courts they have in large shopping centres.

  27. so ur planning around this asian? na! their living here, so they can live with OUR culture! do u drink? if so, u'll drink infont of them won't u?!?
