  1. Well, first, you need to get together all the facts you know, or suspect, about her.

If you were adopted also, go to the place where you were adopted from.  That institution may have a few ideas for you.

In any case, you must go to any people in the family, friends, etc, who might have some memory or knowledge about her, and try glean what additional facts, or leads you can.

If you knew the town she was adopted from, or had a suspicion of the town (or even state) she might live now, you could put in some short newspaper advertisements seeking "any ideas or information anyone may have on this person".

Then too, I think there are a number of groups around that seek to reunite adoptees.  They must have a presence in phone books, on the internet, and in libraries and geneological societies.  They surely will be able to help you.

In the meantime, perhaps you could get a local newpaper to do a human interest story on your family and it's history.

I do not mean to disuade or discourage you, but you do have a bit of labor in store for yourself.

And remember one thing:  If this person does not want to be found, your efforts may go in vain....

But if this person wants to be found, then coincidences will play a large part in your success.  You must create all the links and coincidences you can, to encourage success.

But do be careful!  There are a lot of unscrupulous people out there!  Protect your identity at all times, and be careful what information of yourself you let out.  You might want to work through a PO Box, or an agency of some kind.

Sorry, but those are all the ideas I have.

    Good Luck!
