How can i find an after school program in my area for my autistic child?

my son only goes to school for 3 hours and i cant find a riliable baby sitter

I have a son w/ autism, so,"hey". Good luck w/ that one. I have never been able to find anybody and I ended up having to stay at home. When I got divorced I had to move back in w/ the folks(ahhhh!) Try the local autism society in yr area. They should be easy to find through yr child's doctor, yellow pages,

local library, child's school( IEP facilitator, ect) or school principal.Could also get an RN to babysit thru the child's medical coverage. Call the insurance provider and tell them

yr situation and u should be able to get a nurse/ or other assistance to come to yr home. Sorry I could not be of more help. There are NOT alot of options for us!!! Good luck.

All depend on the area one is residing,and also there are so many means one can get inform with respect to this search.First one can making enquiry from close friends around,or rather going to near by school,for possible direction,which is actually there field of operation.this i think would give one a close link in the above search.

contact the state dept of disability services

division of developmental disabilities

   they will refer you to agenciesa like ARC

                 My granddaughter is also "Autistic" but I want my daughter to get a second opinion, and a third, because to me she doesn't seem autistic at all !!! They live in California and I found out California has the highest Autistic Rate in children than any other states in our country!! See why I want more opinions for her?!!! Anyhoo, just go onto Yahoo's/Google type of thing, and type in Autistic After School/Schooling..See what cha' get from there!! Good Luck to you hun!! And things will get better sooner than you think. They'll probably find a cure for this, faster than Cancer!!
