go to your states criminal justice page (just google it) and you can usually search that way.

you can never call a person an inmate if they are not in prison...

If it is federal, there is a national prison number in Washington.  If it is in your state, try the courthouse and the sheriff's office and they will tell you how.

depending on the state or prison, many of them now days are on-line.  You can search inmates by last name.  I know you can find many of them in Ohio for example.  Try to search for prison inmates in your state with google.  Good luck

do a search on Altavista.com for your state prison system. Its site should have a lsit of inmates.  If federal do similar search for federal prison dept.
