The best resource I have found is the USA Volleyball web site. Click on http://www.usavolleyball.org and click on the "wanna play?" link on the left to find your local region. The the local regional site, you can call or email to ask about local leagues.

I usually check the local YMCA or the area Rec Centers. Sometimes they will have open play for a day fee or, at the rec centers, for free as long as you are a resident of the city. Also look on the city's parks and recreation web site or give them a call. Sometimes they have leagues/open play as well.

hmmm, check with local churches, that's where i thought some indoor volleyball leagues were already going on  :)  and it depends on if you are playing COED or mens?
