we bought our sons a wal-mart...i think it was  15 or 20 dollars and then  you buy the minutes there too (the minutes can  also be bought anywhere, like gas stations, delis, over the phone, etc.

Cingulars prepaids are cheap, but I love Virgin Mobile. cheapest phone is the Pearl $19.99 and the cards r $20 to $100. u can do plans with no contract. with mine old one, i got the Slice phone for $50 and my plan was 500 daytime mins, with unlimted night n weekends, nights started at 7pm for 59.99 (i got tex plan for 9.99 unlimited) but they have less plans and all u do is buy phones cards every month worth what ur plan is and call it in...

tmobile has their Flex plan whhich is like Virgin mobile and works great too...my friend has that plan.
