I have a retired race horse, and i would like to find more about his mom's pedigree, and some pictures if possible. Are there any good sites i could look at?

  1. If he raced in the US, he should have a number tattooed inside his upper lip. You can contact the Jockey Club for info about his record, and the records of his sire and dam. If it is anything like the AQHA, they should be able to send you at least 3-4 generations back.

You would have to know when and where he raced in order to get the information from track records...the Jockey Club is your best bet.

  2. If you know her registered name go here: http://www.pedigreequery.com/

It will give you her entire pedigree, once you find her you can click on her dam's name to find HER pedigree. If there is a lower case I in a circle next to her name put your icon over that and you will get her previous owner and her racing stats... if there is a tiny horse next to the lower case I put your icon over that to see a picture.

  3. heres a few

  4. brisnet or equibase for thoroughbred pedigrees, race histories etc.  Or, you can call the Jockey club.

  5. If your aussie then the studbook.org is the best place
