  1. One of the most tried and true methods of hamster recovery is to put the hammies cage on its side on the floor and let him come back on his own, and trust me he will. My hammies get out more than they should but when ever they got tired of "roughing it" they always came home for food, water and a nice warm bed. Keep in mind, in the wild hamsters would travel several miles per night in search of food, so exploring is just one of those cute little hammie traits.

    * On a side note: If I didn't have the luxury of waiting for a hamster to come back after a freedom frolic, I would let my dog, Alexis, downstairs into my room and she would find the MIA hammie and keep him cornered until I got there. I don't recommend this to everyone since my dog loves hamsters, and is very gentle with anything smaller than she is.

  2. Oh wow.

    lol.

I know this sucks, first hand.

I got a brand new drawf hamster, about the length of a pinky, and she was missing that same day.

I found her a few days later.

I found her under the wash machine.

Try putting some peanutbutter on a peice of tin foil in everyroom and check back ALL the time.

Try blocking easy exits to the outside world.

    GOOD LUCK!

    You will find him!

  3. set a trap for it. get a small box, just make sure its big enough, to where if the hamster was in it, he/she could not climb out.make sure there is no top at all on the box. put a lot of food and her favorite treat in the box. make some kind of ramp leading to the top of the box so the hamster can fall in to get to the food. make sure she can walk up this ramp. put a small amount of food lying on the ramp to get her attention. just dont put enough to satisfy her. hopefully she will fall into the box for the food and wont be able to get out. make sure this trap is out in the night, and in the room she escaped from or the room you think she is in.

i am so sorry your hamster is lost.

one of my hamsters escaped once and got in to rat poison :(

check under/behind the refrigerator, thats where mine was, i guess because it was a warm place to hide

i really hope this helps you

  4. look behind chairs, under couches, and definitly in cuboards and things like that, because my sister's hamster went missing tons and one time we found her in the cuboards under the sink. Also look anywhere there may be a food suply, I also heard that if u put some books like steps leading up to a bucket with food thats not filled too much, they will go in but then they cant get back out so you will find them, just leave it in the middle of the room when u go to sleep when you wake up it may be there :) good luck.

  5. well put four or three sun flower seed and put flour around

    the sun flower seeds

so you can see his little foot steps

or put tin foil and food on it  where he got lost

and sleep in that room and

try to listen to the tin foil while Elliot

    is walking on it.

  6. get a big enough cup for him to get into and set it on the floor. get a few books or something small enough that way he cud get into the cup. then take some of his food the night b4 and make a path up the steps and put some of his food into the cup. in the morning he will probably be there.

  7. Normally when hamsters escape you can't find them. Usually when they are found the only way to catch them is a certain humane rodent trap. Unfortunately they are not usually found until they die and start to smell. I'm sorry, but it is probably unlikely you will find it alive and be able to catch it.

  8. this happens quite alot for me too, I usually let my hamsters roam in my room, it's a "hamster-friendly" room! but they sometimes manage to escape to other parts of the house. I try to find them by listening carefully to those tiny scratches and sounds they make. One of my hamsters always goes to the same place to hide when she's out and about! you can also try putting bits of food in open places, they'll eventually get hungry!
