  1. try here                                http://breeding.bloodhorse.com/sirelists...

  2. The Blood-Horse website has lists of leading broodmare sires:  http://breeding.bloodhorse.com/sirelists...

This website gives a minimal free report on the progeny of Thoroughbred mares and stallions:  http://www.pedigreequery.com/  If you click on the "Reports" heading on the toolbar, and then click on the "progeny" heading on the drop-down menu, it will allow you to input the name of any Thoroughbred and you can see a listing of their registered progeny.  However, this is not a complete listing, as it generally does not include the most recent progeny;  nor is it detailed, as it does not include information in detail about their race records.  "Free report;"  worth what you pay for it.

If you want to go into detail on the progeny of any particular mare or mares, you will have to pay to order a report on her, which you can get from Equibase or any of a number of other services.

There are a variety of publications, products and services available from The Jockey Club that will give you information on mare progeny performance;  check this out:  http://www.jockeyclub.com/companies_TJC....

Another resource you can use that is available for free is to check with the various sales companies websites for on-line catalogues of sales.  If the mare you are researching (or one of her progeny) has sold at a public auction, and you know the auction and the date, you can download the catalogue in .pdf format and then pull up the relevant catalogue page.  The catalogue page isn't a complete record-- basically, it's an advertisement for the mare or her progeny, edited and presented in a way to make her or her progeny look as attractive on paper as possible.

Here are the websites for some of the major sales companies:

    http://ww2.keeneland.com/sales/default.a...

    http://www.fasigtipton.com/

    http://www.barretts.com/

    http://www.obssales.com/

There's a lot of information you can get for free by using these resources, but it won't be complete and it won't be up-to-date.  It's good for general study and learning, but if you want to know about a specific mare, your best option is going to be to purchase a report on her from one of the companies that supplies such reports, because it will be complete and as up-to-date as the database that supports it.

  3. On the Racing Post website you can use their serach facility to search for horses by their dam.

You need to register to use the site, but it is free.

In the top right hand corner is a search box, type the name of the dam you are looking for and then select dam from the drop down box.  You will then be able to look at race results, entries and sales results.
