Hi, just a quick question - I have taken 5 pregnancy tests this week and all are positive...yeah!!!!...we decided to try for our own lil bundle No 1 in July 2008. So i stopped taking the pill on 9th July after many discussions. I bled on 11th and 12th of July and that’s it! Never had anything since.

From what i have read you count from your first day of your last period but was my 'bleed' an actually period or just because i came off the pill? Can I count from the 11th July????

I thought it would take me months to get pregnant as been on the pill for 14 years…cant believe it, that’s why taken 5 tests to make sure..lol

I was never regular with my period before so not a clue when actually due on!!!!!

I've recently moved into a new area and been to sign up at doctors but they said it could take 3 wks to register then I’d need an appointment...so this could be up to 4 wks...i cant wait that long!!!

I'm assuming i am pregnant so taking it a bit easy until dr's appointment but is there any way i could know how far i am....signs so far have just been really uncomfortable stomach cramps, and sore b***s???

  1. I'm pregnant.. and my b***s started hurting about a month and a half in.. but every woman is different. I'm sorry hun, but you're gonna have to wait it out and see what the doc says.

  2. ive had two pregnancies. and the only accurate way is  through ultrasound

  3. Well when I was pg and called the doc they said not to come in till I thought I was at least 8weeks. Then on the first visit they do an ultra sound and try to tell from the measurements if the 8 weeks is correct and I was off 2 weeks I was only 6 weeks, and then went back at 8 and they thought it was dead on. I was due aug 16 and had her on the 11th at 9lbs 7oz  so who knows??

  4. Implantation bleeding is lighter than menstrual bleeding, and consists of pink or brown colored blood. Implantation bleeding occurs when the trophoblast, or tissue that surrounds the egg, attaches to the endometrium and slowly eats its way into the lining. As it does so, it eats through the mother's blood vessels, forming blood lakes within itself. When these blood lakes form near the surface of the trophoblast, they often cause implantation bleeding.

i would count from july 11th.

  5. it is hard to tell, but people can usually only find out they're proggo 5 weeks into actual pregnancy. ur dr might be able to give u an estimate.

  6. If I were you I would count from july 11 you are probably around seven weeks pregnant.

  7. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

thank god you were on the pill before you decided to have a baby - you're obviously an extremely fertile couple! ha ha! - make sure to remember that after this baby is born unless you want to be pregnant again immediately after the birth :)

you are definitely pregnant - there is no such thing as a false positive on a pregnancy test :)

check out www.babycenter.com there is so much information on that site to get you all excited and knowledgeable :)

since you know you are going to be a mummy, you will want to learn as much as you can about pregnancy - yahoo answers is fantastic, but go to the book store and find What To Expect When You Are Expecting. it has every question answered, and is easy to read and understand.

Yes do start taking a pre-natal multi-vitamin that has folic acid in it. I like Blackmores brand, but any will do.

Ask at the chemist for advice on which one is best suited for you and your diet - you might as well get the best right?

Your doctor will organise  your first ultrasound, and that is when they will be able to tell you how far along you are in your pregnancy.

If it takes 4weeks to see the doc, and it's been nearly 2mths since you went off the pill you may be able to tick off 3mths by the time you have your first scan!

    Brilliant!!

i'm so happy for you and your partner - such wonderful news :)

  8. Nah you are only a little bit pregnant.  If you were a lot-a-bit pregnant then I would worry.

  9. If a pregnancy test says you are pregnant (and particularly five of them) you can pretty much guarantee you are pregnant.  They are far more like to say you are not when in fact you are than to say you are when you are not.  The first day or your last period is what is classed as the first day of your pregnancy but it is hard to know whether to go off that day or the 11th.  The only way you are really going to get an idea is from an ultrasound.  It may depend as to what part of your cycle you stopped taking the pill.  Based on what you are saying I would think the 11th is the first day but I think an ultrasound will be your best indicator.  Good luck and congratulations.

  10. If you can't get an appt till 4 weeks time and you feel that you must - ask another doctor for an appt or do you live where there are limited medical facilities available?

Failing that you may just have to be patient and wait for your appt when the doctor should arrange an ultrasound for you to check how far you are along and also to check up on your bub

If you are really uncomfortable - then just take it easy - sometimes babies upset your tummy some and can cause abdominal discomfort - sip on some plain or club soda which will do no harm and may help you to dislodge some of the wind that you are proably experiencing

The sore b***s are your homones adjusting to your pregnant state.

Try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy as much as is possible - a good calm mum is also good for the baby and yes it won't hurt to take some folic acid if you wish - but you can get plenty of folic acid naturally from fresh fruit and vegetables - just make sure that you wash anything to be consumed raw thoroughly before eating it .

I have included a good website talking about ultrasounds for you to read

    Enjoy your pregnant state

  11. Just had my third baby, firsty really uncomfortable cramps,? I would get that looked at. A period pain feeling is normal though.

I wouldn't take that bleed into account I would go from your last period. The doctor can't tell you how far you are, only if you are over 12 weeks, unless you have an ultrasound. Hope this helps and goodluck.

  12. Go to your local gp or your doctor they could help you!.

  13. Albert einstein wrote a book about pregnancies in the late 80's ....YOU MAY WANNA CHECK THAT OUT
