  1. how did you send the letter, if it was royal mail special delivery, then simply go to www.royalmail.com and type in the reference number, this will tell you whether it has been received.

This theory works with all delivery company's so just type in the couriers website and track the parcel

    Good luck

  2. Julie...you don't say if it was sent by registered post, is that the ref you quote ?

If it was sent reg post it should take only a few days. However, post here can take up to 2 weeks or more to be delivered. They only deliver here when they feel they have enough letters to make it worth a trip.

Why not try and contact the person you sent it to and find out if it was delivered.

    Hope this helps.

  3. check on Royal Mail's website, thats one reason you're given the reference number, so you can tracks its prgress, but at the moment, post is taking sometime from the UK, letter size is taking about 5 working days at the moment judging by our post today!

Are you absolutely sure of the address though, what street or industrial estate os it going to, seems like there is something missing to me, but if it can't be delivered, it will come back to you

  4. As you have a reference number you should be able to check on the company (that you sent it with) website or by ringing them. Hopefully that's all you should need to do.

However this happened to us once (sending parcel to family in Lanzarote) and when we checked the royal mail website it only confirmed that the parcel had left the UK.

Then my brother-in-law had to go to his local post office in Lanzarote (where you would collect parcels) to ask them. He never did find it, we could've claimed with Royal Mail but my bro-in-law said not to bother.

Also, even though post going abroad is very slow don't wait around, go and find out as soon as you can. When I lived in Lanzarote I was expecting a parcel, it should've taken about 2 weeks.

After over 3 weeks we went to the post office and they said they had received it but because we didn't go to collect it they "threw" it away. We never even received a card to say it had arrived and we needed to collect it but they didn't care.

So if you know it definitely left the country you sent it from don't wait just go and keep asking!!!! (as long as you have the name and address it was posted to).

    Hope this helps.
