  1. The best way is to talk with people. Tell everyone you know that your husband is interested in this and see if they have advice or opinions. Look at ads in the paper and see if they are hiring.

I think HVAC will always be in demand, as it is definitely needed and a specific career. I dated a man for awhile and he was a tech. He started out with a small company to get his experience and last I heard, he was doing very well.

The school you pick is also important, because employers look at that! Try for community colleges or adult vo-techs. Look around your community and see what is available and compare the schools. Be careful of those career schools and schools that offer training in weeks. See if any have a program where he could be placed in a company, like an internship or training situation. Anything to build up the resume.

DO NOT listen to ads on Yahoo or anywhere else on the Internet that claim that certain careers are needed. They are often wrong because they generalize. They never come out and say that the jobs are in demand ONLY in certain areas. I fell for that when they said there was a teaching shortage, as did many people I know. There is not a demand for teachers in most states, despite what these articles say-there is just  a need for certain subjects in certain parts of certain states. These articles need to state that it TOTALLY depends on where you live. Of course, if you can move, that is the best bet, but not all of us can.

Good luck to you and your husband!
