How can i find out that what generation of IPOD Nano i have?

exactly like the first response.  to add on the 2nd gen, it is a "stick" ipod with colors, that has rounded egdes with a colored aluminium case frount and back. the first gen is black or white on front, and shiny silver on back. the 3rd is the only one that can play videos, and is a square, with coloared front

It depends when you got it.

If you got it when nanos first came out and its black or white. It's first generation.

If you got it when all the colored iPod nanos came out its 2nd generation.

And If its square shaped and not rectangle its 3rd generation.
