How can i find out were my last name is from?

some people tell me its italian some how but, what do i do to really find out?

and see what comes up.

Note, though, that you should have 16 surnames (counting maiden names) among your 16 great great grandparents, so your father's father's father's . . . surname isn't proof positive of your heritage.
