How can i find out what colleges are scams?

Question

i want to do a home learning course in animal care

is there a site or anywhere i can find out if the college is real or a scam

there are so many scams online and i will be paying money up front.

Going by the following blurb on the 'about us' section -

"eLearning Centre is a recognised OCR (Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations) Approved Centre and is a recognised OCN (Open College Network) member through the Regional MOCN (Merseyside Open College Network) Department. We are a member of the British Learning Association. eLearning Centre is also on the UK register of learning providers (UK PRN: 10002080)."

I would say they're legit. However, they don't really do much besides provide the learning materials - you could just as easily get your own, and book your own exam with the same examining bodies they use.

I wouldn't  bother with anything besides the Open University, personally.
