How can i find out what kind of video card is in my laptop without taking it apart?

  1. If you are running Vista, open your start menu, and type wla in the search bar.  Up top in the menu you should see Info Tool.  Open it and this will give you all the info on you machine.


  2. When your OS is vista, click Start, then type in the Search textbox "dxdiag" (remove ") then click the result which is named dxdiag. Then when the DirectX Diagnostic Tool comes up. click on the Display Tab. There you will find the info on your video card.

  3. Follow these instructions:

    1. on your keyboard press the "Windows Key" and "R" together.

    2. A "Run" box should open, now type in "dxdiag" without the quotes.

    3. Select the display tab.

    Hope this is clear.

  4. Do a google search for the specs on your laptop.
