  1. From start, choose run, type CMD.

In the command prompt, type ipconfig /all

Look for "Physical Address".  It should be 6 combinations of 2 letters or numbers.  This is your MAC.

  2. Start - Run   type in "ipconfig" in dialog box

  3. http://www.dowling.edu/mydowling/tech/ma...

  4. Click the start menu and then run. Type "cmd" and hit enter. Then type in "ipconfig all" (note the space between ipconfig and all).

    good luck.

  5. No, the IP address is a different number. Look to see if there is a manufacturers label on PC? It may be on there, if your using a laptop.

  6. ip is Internet port. it has nothing to do with operating system.

  7. run ipconfig in the dos window

  8. No.

    Go to RUN.

    Type cmd, then enter.

Dialog will come up and then type:

    ipconfig /all

notice the space between ipconfig and the slash.

    It will say physical address.

MAC is called the Machine Address. It is different than an IP address and on a different layer.

If you're trying to enter your MAC address in your router, you usually can find the command on the router setup screen that says, "Clone MAC address." It does just that... copies the MAC address of your PC to the router so your provider will not need to issue another lease line.
