How can i fix a Blew piston?

How long will it take? is it easy? Please help! P.S. Its an 1997 Polaris Express. A.K.A. an ATV.

  1. It's a labor intensive job and not for the typical do it yourself person.  What caused the damage to the piston in the first place?  That needs to be addressed also.


  2. It's almost a sure bet there's more wrong than a blown piston. If they knew that for sure, they'd replace it and get a lot more money for the thing.

  3. Is that blue or blowed piston either way take the heads off flip the engine remove bolt,s and crank send block to a machine shop spend a bunch of money , which the bike is not worth the time or money.Buy a new bike

  4. if you dont know you cant do it take it to someone who knows

  5. 2 hours to strip and change....what happend to it?..it may need a rebore if the linner is damaged..

    it IS quite a simple job...a little harder if its a 4 stroke but perfectally DIY withtools AND A MANUAL.
