How can i fix a crack in my refrigerator copper water line?

  1. You can get a Ferrel type coupling.

    Take a tubing cutter and cut out the cracked section and install coupling.

    Should be able to get at any hardware store.

  4. Just go to your local hardware store and get a copper wiring patch kit, they only cost around $20 to $25 dollars and are very easy to apply. You may or may not require a heating source with the patch kit... read the instructions!

  6. I would recommend replacing the whole line rather than fixing it, at least the part behind the refrigerator which should be a coil to allow pulling out the refrigerator.

    I say this because over time, years, copper lines get hard and will kink and crack more easily. It is also harder to get a good seal with a compression fitting because it is hard.

    Those lines can also pit on the inside and leak.

    You would be happier later if you take the time and little more cost to replace the line.
