How can i fix corrupted files on my computer?

my computer won't let me download anything and open up my itunes cause it says "the itunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occured (-50)"

Did you try uninstalling Itunes and reinstall?

Re-install iTunes, but first you have to remove the current iTunes  "Add/Remove programs,"
