How can i fix my big lumpy pillow?

i have a long green soft body pillow. i washed it not that long ago, not knowing that it would ruin it. is there any way i could smooth out the lumps?

  1. try putting it in your dryer on a low heat setting or air dry setting and putting a pair of shoes or a few tennis balls...the shoes/balls hitting it will hopefully smooth it out!


  2. You are probably out of luck but putting it in the dryer with a tennis ball or 2 will help a little bit.

  3. If you have the inclination you could unpick a little on one end and take the stuffing out and tease the filling with your fingers to take out the lumps - put it back into the pillow and sew it back up - if sewing by hand stitch in one direction and back over your stitches to make a strong seam

  4. What is the filling made of?

    Feathers will clump but can be separated.

    You might try unpicking the seam on the end, take out the filling and spread it out on a towel to separate, or enough to slip your hand in and physically break the clumps up.

    If the filling is old, you could replace it with new fill.
