I had medium blonde hair which was bleached for about a year. 3 days ago I went to a salon to add some brown streaks in it so it would look like highlights. The hairdresser said that in order to die the blonde hair bown he would have to use dark brown color because it wont stay on the blonde hair if he doesn't. So the dark brown color next to my blonde looks really bad. They mix together into a grayish color. How much of the color will fade? I dont mind a medium brown color but this brown is super dark.

  1. The guy you went to was crazy. If he even went to hair school he wasn't trained very well. You need to go to a salon and get them to bleach out what ever the heck that guy did.

What is supposed to happen is that the stylist would "fill" a certain color into the hairshaft to get the end color you want to stick in really good.

If you are willing to wait forever for it to fade into something tolerable then I'd recommend using Head and Shoulders. It's a salon's worst nightmare because it messes up color though, so don't plan on doing this if you do have the $$/time/good stylist to go to.

  2. sa stated. the gyu's simply stupid.

He should've used a semi-permanent color to reach th riht level or color so that the brown you wanted would've stayed and stick to your hair.

if too light, the hair wouldn't have held it long. what he did is permanently darkened the color instead. Even washing out it might not be as lighter. maybe not bleaching but color removal process will get the dark out without lightning it too much
