Ok, I will try my best to explain this ... The piece that I am building is 52 feet long x 10 " addition " On the back where the rafters hang out it 16 " and In the front its the same 16 " but when we put the plywood on the roof starting at the back it was square . By the time that we got to the front of the part the plywood was about 3 inches over the 16 rafter eave .. So now at the rear its flush and at the front is off,, So I am trying to get it fixed so i can start putting soffit up .. any info would be great. thanks in advance ..... jamie

  1. Can you link to a photo of the problem?

  2. Snap a chalk line where you want the plywood to end, then cut it off......

When starting your next roof, pull a string right across the roof from one end to the other where you want the plywood to end,

then start the sheets all touching the string.

  3. sorry but kinda hard to follow.....why r u building a 52 ft x 10 inch addition?  plz more info so i can help ya.....

  4. Jamie........The quickest way now is just cut it off straight with the rafter tails or the end of the building. Use a nice chalk line when your doing things like this........you can use a dry line but sometimes it moves and you got another problem. I'm not sure what end you are cutting off.......but patch with at least 12" strips...........don't put 3"pieces back in......it may break under your feet..........good luck and good nite. Check your building and make sure it's not leaning one way or the other.......you may have to plumb up some posts........sounds like something may have gotten out of square on you.
