  1. You'll need to be doing cardio every day, and weights every other day.

For cardio, I recommend doing around 40 minutes a day.

Try to vary the types of cardio so you don't get bored. So if you have a local gym, then you won't have to be running all the time. The exercise bike and cross trainer as well as the rowing machine are great ways to drop weight.

As for the weights, it might help you being part of a gym so that someone can be there and make sure you don't cause yourself injury. If you decide to use weight machines, build up your reps.

    E.g. 3 sets of 15 on a light weight

Then 3 sets 10 on a medium weight

Then 2 sets of 10 reps on a heavier weight

This will build up your muscle more gradually and reduces the risk of injury.

Drink protein shakes not too long before you do the weights, otherwise you'll pile on a lot more weight. Drinking protein shakes stimulates muscle growth, but soon passes if it isn't acted upon almost immediately.

You also need to ensure that you keep a sensible diet. You should have 4/5 small meals a day, and ensure that there is protein and carbohydrates in all of them. Stay away from saturated fats and snacking between meals.

    Hope this helps :]
