Question:

How can i gain weight?i have tried everything proteins,pills....but i m vegetarian?

my height is almost 5.7 and my age is about 20.my weight is about 48-50 i want to gain suitable weight acc. to my height. i m taking protein food supplement and my diet is also ok. please give me some better and easier suggestions to gain weight so that i look perfect from health fact. i m a student of the coolege.

To gain weight you need to eat more calories in a day than you burn.  I wouldn't think that being 50 pounds at 5'7" is compatible with life, so I'm going to assume you're measuring weight in kilograms (which is about 110 pounds).  So to gain weight you need to do the opposite of a dieter, you need to exercise less and eat more.  That doesn't mean you should eat unhealthy things, just things with lots of calories.

    Nuts and seeds have a lot of calories, so eating a lot of them throughout the day can help you gain weight.  Peanut butter is especially good since it doesn't need any special preparation and has a lot of calories.  Also, drinking a lot of juice instead of water can help add calories to your diet.  If you are purposely trying to gain weight, you can also make sure that you are completely full after every meal so that you are taking in as many calories as you can.


  2. I don't understand how you are alive unless you're using a form of measure other than pounds!!! Of the vegetarians I have ever known that are healthy looking-i"ve noticed that one of the common factors in their diets is peanut butter! french fries are also a favorite.

  3. avocado - high calories vegetable with loads of essential oil?

    nuts - again high it good fats? healthy for you!

    seeds - such as pumkin seeds have high calories and is high in zinc? zinc gves you a healthy appetite? other seeds that are also high in calories and good fats are sunflower seeds, flax seeds?

    lots of banana's are also good because they have lots of caloies for fruit and are energy building!

    other things to try:- honey, and maybe try to eat a little more on your plate everyday and then you wo't feel like your stuffing yourself to put weight on and your calorie intake should go up graduatly and ain a litle weight at a time? good luck?

  4. Stop your worry about your weight. You can gain weight not by worrying or thinking about it alone. To come out of  the problem one should forget the problem. You are wasting your energy due to this. Do meditate. Take healthy food. Do exercise. If you do exercise you will feel hungry and eat more. Morning on alternate days eat a cup of sprouted cereals. Eat five cashew or batham daily. Be happy. Remember it is easy to gain weight but very very hard to reduce it. So be happy. Think positively. Be optimistic always.

I think he means 48-50kg.  Go for healthy fats like nuts and avocados, and add some more carbs to your diet like rice, pasta, bread, etc.  If you've done all that and it still isn't working, talk to your doctor.  There actually are prescription medications out there for the purpose of making you gain weight.  (My brother needed to take it when he was a kid.)  Good luck!

  6. drink more milk, and eat more cheese, ghee... try to drink at least 2 glasses of full fat milk, and cheese everyday, 100gms minimum. and, make fruit salad and mix with milk cream. hope it works!
