i babysit for a 4 year old boy, because his parents work all the time. my mom thinks he pees himself to get attention. we give him plenty of attention here. he knows how to go potty, where it is and stuff, but he just wont go until he pees himself. then when we ask him y he laughs and smiles like no tommorrow. weve tryed spanking him, but no use! wut can we do?

btw this boy is my cousin and my grandma said that his father pretty much potty trained himself when he was 2. and idk if its hereditery or w/e but just so ya know

  1. maybe give him less liquids and if that dosent work then get him pullups/dipers

  2. You have NO RIGHT to ever hit this child.  If I were this child's mother I would report you to CPS then you wouldn't have to worry about him wetting himself.  Bathroom habits are NOT "hereditary"  Just because the father was potty trained at two is NO indication that any children he creates will be.  He sounds like a normal busy 4 year old who doesn't take time to go pee, 4 year olds are often like that.  They have to be REMINDED.  So it is YOUR fault you're not reminding him to go every hour or so...But you're hitting him for what is YOUR fault.  Yeah I'd be calling CPS and FAST.

  3. I would plan something fun... like a trip to the park or swimming or whatnot and tell him that only big boys get to go and he has to keep his pants dry for a whole week...then he gets to go.

  4. why would you take a 4 y/o to a stix concert?
