I played all four years and was one of the better kids coming out of JV. Moved up to Varsity beginning of sophomore year. Junior year i stared one game didnt make a single error but sat for most of the season until we had a game left. Then playing in a State Game batting fourth, doing very well in the game. Over the summer I developed a shoulder injury and had surgery and couldnt play my senior year but was still on the team. But was able to play in a wood bat league in the summer, which i did well for not playing for a year and still was in therapy for my shoulder. So is there anyway i can get a D2 school to notice me or is it to late

  1. You can always try to walk on....look up the school and contact the Athletic department.  I am more amazed that a bench warmer was batting fourth in a "State game".  Good luck but you will have to do all the leg work, they are not coming to you, you have to go to them!

  2. there is recruiting questionaires on most schools websites you can fill out which will insure that they've at least seen your name. if they like what they read they might contact you

another way is to go visit the school and set up a meeting with the coach. shoot them an email or call to see if they will have time to meet with you while you are visiting the school

make a high light tape of you hitting in a cage, then in a batting practice session, then if you have any game tape then throw that on it as well. try to get a bunch of different angles so they can see your entire swing. try to make the highlight tape nice and send it around to coaches

most importantly, make sure you register for the ncaa clearinghouse. no div 1 or div 2 school can contact you or recruit you until you are cleared through the clearinghouse.

these are all things i did and now im pitching in college and couldnt be happier

  3. yes you can. hustle out everything you hit. if you hit a pop up to the infield run it out as fast as you can scouts will like that. hustle every time your on the field. if your a good enough player they will notice you. remember it only takes one pop up that you dont run out to get cut.

  4. you have to write to them call the coaches and stuff. you have to make the effort. mail them your stats from your high school team and your travel ball stats. call and ask for a tour of the campus

  5. go to a juco for a year or two then try to go to a d2 school
