Buy it... Though the 500gb drive may be a challenge - most of the DVRs can handle the drive, they just don't come with it...

But you'd better do some homework to be sure the battery is rated for this sort of duty cycle and to be sure the batteries will have enough power for overnight.

You did not specify where the batteries would be stored - this assumes an indoor storage location with some decent environmentals.
