  1. Some magazines run competitions every now and again. If you would really like to be a fashion stylist look through some magazines and enter it i guess. I recently read one in 'Total Girl' and you have have to draw an outfit with a background. I think you might be a little bit old to enter that. So try magazines like Girlfriend, Dolly or Cosmo Girl. In Case you're interested in the 'Total Girl' one here's what it says:

    FASHION COORDINATOR

Come up with the theme and location for a photo shoot, then draw an outfit that would fit this theme! Get inspiration from the pages of 'Total Girl'!

    HOW TO ENTER

First decide which of the five roles you think would suite you, then read what you need to do to apply on the role on the next page. Pop in your entry in an envelope along with your name, address phone number, age and permission  note from mum or dad and e-mail to:

Total Girl / Dream team Comp

    PO BOX 130

    Eastern Suburbs MC NSW 2004

*NOTE: If an interstate winner is chosen, Total Girl will cover the costs to fly you and your guardian to Sydney and put you up in a hotel for one night!

WHAT WILL THE DREAM TEAM WIN?

*A day in the Tg Office, helping us put the issue together! That means meeting the team, touring the office, attending meetings , testing toys, writing reviews and heaps more!

*You will also get to star in a photo shoot at the TG Studio! You'll get your hair and make-up done and be decked out in your new clothes! the pics will then feature in YOUR issue of the magazine.

*You will get to have a big lunch with the entire TG Team!

]*Plus you'll grab a 12 month subcribtion to Total Girl and a cool goody pack.

Competition closes 18th February. See www.totalgirl.com.au for the terms and conditions. Chance plays no part in determining winners.

  2. I want to do this too!

  3. The publishing industry is EXTREMELY hard if not virtually impossible to break into. You need to start doing internships in highschool to give yourself the best shot. Even then it's hard because there will be 10,000 people just like you who may be more qualified trying to get the same unpaid internship. All I can tell you is do your own research and expect to start at the bottom which means working for free with mean fashion industry people.

  4. Contact the magazine and ask them what to do in general.  Start there.

    Earf!

  5. i don't know whether your british, but whether you are or not, try this website.

it'll give you loads of detail about a particular job, but i can't give you any more detail unless you giva specific job....sorry.
