sirius sattlite radio as a mixx d.j.- ihave made contact an have been given false information.....i mailed them a sample mixx cd an i got no reply ???????? does any one have any sirius sattlite radio hook up ?????

i think that have enough d j's, in fact after the merger there will be d j's out of work!!!!!!!

Can you deal with the truth?

You can't.

Only jocks with many years of industry experience have the slightest chance of getting on board at either Sirius or XM (Or the new Sirius-XM, that's going to take some getting used to). And even then, they'll contact you.

The other answer is correct, these stations will be going through a period of consolidation with the merger and will probably be laying off jocks before taking on any new talent.

It is not encouraged to send unsolicited tapes to any radio station without contacting them and getting an invitation first.

Study your craft, practice a lot, gain experience, watch the trades for openings, make friends. The opportunities will come (with a little help from your persistence - but be aware of the fine line between persistence and pestilence).

You'd have better luck starting at a local station, however radio of any kind hires are on a decline w/ the economy and technological advancements.

Usually to be a DJ you either a) need to be someone of local interest like a journalist, ex-politician, etc b) start as an intern and work your way up,  if your good  you will end up on the air after a few years. or c) kiss all the right butt and get in good w/ the PDs.  I recommend option B,  worked for me.
