How can i get a job on the oil rigs?

I'm a qualified plumber looking to get a start on the rigs. Any ideas on where to start looking?

  1. First of all you need to have a survival certificate before you are allowed onto the rigs. This intensive 5 day course is run by RGIT

    Gone are the days where an employer would put you through this course but you could contact Salamis they will be able to give you updated information on this.

    It's as well to bare in mind that with the downturn of oil and gas production in the UK you may be looking at abroad contracts.

    Manymaintenance type contracts which is presumabley plumbing would come under are few and far bewtween these days in the UK and many are multiskilled disciplines too.
