  1. They can... It usually takes a couple hours though.

You have to have a key cut

(costs $30 for a cheap one or $100 for a flip key)

And have all your keys programed

(costs $80 to $100, doesn't matter how many keys you have)

I have an 2002 Jetta and I had 3 keys cut at the dealer and programmed by 2 locksmiths (yes it took 2, one of them couldn't figure out how to do it. It was quite the fiasco). It cost me $200 and 4 hours of my time.

    Good Luck

  2. a day to a week..and it will have a computer chip in it prob..so take it to the dealer.prob about $60-$80 GL

  3. I know that if your take it to the dealer, they want proof of ins and copy of your drivers lic. and then charge you 180 to make the key not to mention the if you do have the key and need that too.

look on craigslist or ebay. I have one on craiglist in st louis mo.
