How can i get a picture on top of another one?

Question

What i mean by that is.. say i have a picture of myself and i wanted a little anime/manga character in the corner, but no background with the character. Do you use photoshop for that? or is there a free photo editing site i could use? I don't really want to download anything right know either.

If I'm understanding correctly, what I do is use photoshop. have the picture of you and the anime/manga picture you want side by side in separate windows. use the Select tool to carefully trace around the character as accurately as you can, and then click on the arrow button to drag it on to the picture of yourself in its separate window.

I only know how to do this in Photoshop.  You would need to use layers and basically copy and paste the little anime on top of your photo. Then you can move it around and place it anywhere on top of your own picture.  

Then, when you are completed you would want to flatten the layer so it will be a jpg and easily printed, if you were going to do that with it.

Photoshop is one of the easiest things to download for free on the internet.

If you don't want it illegally then just download the free trial version until you can buy it.

Otherwise just download something called a keygen to generate a serial number that will activate photoshop (basically takes the trial limit off the program).

Then just use layers etc. like the other people have said.

You can't do it any other way really especially as you don't want to download anything. Unless you are EXTREMELY good at using MSPaint =P that is possible, I've done some things in paint.

If you want it to look good then i wouldn't suggest anything but photoshop.
