How can i get a summer rotation in a US hospital??

Hi!

i am a Hungarian medical student and would really like to do a summer rotation in surgery in a US hospital. However, the hospitals i contacted so far said that they only medical students in their final year, and i am not there yet....

any suggestions?

You can try applying for internship in other specialties not OR just to get your foot in the door.  Or you can request to allow you to be an observing medical student.in OR.   You can request the hospital to sponsor you for a working visa.  You can work as a phlebotomist.  A lot of foreign medical students do that over here.  You can also apply in hospitals with a School of medicine. ASk your professors to write letters of references or recommendations for you.  The military also recruit foreign medical doctors and even pay for their schooling as long as they promised a certain amt of service thereafter.
