I think the first step is to go to the spanish embassy or consulate in ur country. They will have the most current requirements. You could also try checking their website for your country. Do a search online for spanish consulate  or embassy in your country.  If you do not have a spanish consulate in your country, you could also get information and a visa to spain from any of the other countries in the european schengen travel areas which allow visa free travel within their territories provided you have an unrestricted visa from any of them. They can issue you a visa for spain. COuntries include italy, portuagal, germany, greece, france, sweden, norway, belgium, denmark, finland etc...

contact the embassy is a stupid answer i have to say. Go to your nearest city hall and they will cover all your answers of going and getting a visa to spain.
