How can i get aim (iming) on my instinct???

okay so i just got my new phone and its an instinct from sprint

it seems to have everything except iming. like i cant chat with my friends on aim. usualy yuh can do this with these type of phones (voyager-verizon; rumor-sprint; side-kick-t.mobile) HOWW CANN II GET AIM USAGEE L0L ??! do i have to download it somewhere ? someone please help me =/
