ok so I'm going to start school in about 1 week and i can't sleep.My normal schedule of sleep is going to bed at 10 and waking up at 7 bc that's what i do when school starts.Lately ive been trying to go to sleep at 10 but its not working and my mom says to turn the tv to something i don't watch and then fall asleep well that doesn't

t work either.I need some help what do i do and don't suggest sleeping pills bc I'm only 12 yrs old.Help me b4 school starts

  1. what i used to do was read before bed because i didnt really like reading it wud bore me and i would be tied.

Little things may help - if a shower relaxes you, take one at night.  Drink warm milk before bedtime, don't have caffine before you sleep, no exercise in the late evening, don't work on something that requires a lot of conentration or effort.  Sounds like your doing a good job trying to stick to a routine - keep it up.  Have a nightly routine also - brush your teeth, wash your face, do everything around the same time and this may become triggers to your body that you're getting ready for nighttime.  Maybe your tv is too distracting - try going to sleep without it on.

  3. Here's what works.  Get up at 7 or even 6 or 5.  Then go to bed at 10pm.  If you still lie there awake, try some vigorous exercise early in the day (not in the evening).  Once you're on the schedule, stick to it.
