  1. well practice is a key ingredient to good volleyball serving, and good vollyball skills in general. the main part is a high toss to get a good spin. if you toss with the hand that you serve with, your serve will be more inline than with your other hand. after you toss, you will reach your arm back like if you were swimming front stroke(make sure your hand is hard so you dont hurt it.) and you will swing forward and snap your wrist. good luck making the team.

  2. well you could always get someone to help you with your serve and practice always makes perfect.

  3. You should ask someone who knows the game and can teach you--say your gym coach. Then (I know this sounds so cliche, but) lots of practice.

  4. practice.  make sure the toss is high enough and that you're making contact in front of you, not right above your head.

  5. ask some of the older volleyball pplz and ask them 2 help u w/ it?? that's what i did?? and what do u know it helped >>> oh yeah and practice ?? practice makes perfect??<_>

  6. First you have to start of exercising and building up your upper body strenght. Do about around 50 push-ups everyday before v-ball try-outs.Now for the overheand skillz.

    1. Put your leg in front of you(if you throw up the ball with your left hand put you left leg out in front of you(same with right)

2.Throw the ball up in front of the hand your serving with

3.shift all of your weight forward and HIT but dont forget to follow through.

  7. A good serve starts with a good toss, so just throw the ball up in the air about 10 times without hitting the ball.  If this dosen't work then make sure you have good footwork, (take 1 step then while you serve the ball drag your other foot across).  Next is have a strong hand and arm while your hitting.  Also hit with your palm, not your fingers.

    Good Luck!

  8. when i was in grade 4, i do the the underhand serve, but i practice the overhand serve. So when i was in the 5th grade.. medyo okay na. maganda na ang laro. kya nakaka ace nmn.

prax lng at sanayin mo lng kamay  mo.

  9. first practice hitting with the palm of your hand. It really helps with you getting a strong overhand. because if you hit it with anyother part of your hand it will not work as well.

Also try starting closer to the net so you can feel what it feels like to make it go over the net. then gradually step father and farther back.

    good luck

    :]

  10. hit a hard ball...

  11. It depends on what part you need to work on.  If you need to work on just getting it over the net, work on you arm strength.  If you need to work on placing the ball try angling you body towards where you want it to go, the just control how hard you hit it.  you should do fine after that.

  12. The toss is very important...too low and you'll serve into the net.  Too high and you'll have too much time to think and/or will serve long.  Try to get on top of the ball with an open hand.  Think of the way that a tennis racket hits the tennis ball on a serve.  The best time to whack it is right when it's about to make it's descent.

It's very hard to explain without showing.  I am old now but still play and have a kick-*** serve.  Do you have a coach who can help you with your form so you can practice before tryouts?

Good luck-I am sure you'll do great.

  13. First just practice hitting the ball as hard as u can. if u get it over the net that's good now u can practice aiming the ball the best place for me is deep middle. It is a hard place for the other team to get a good pass. If u don't make it over, just keep practicing. I had this problem also 2 years ago and i just kept trying and now i am way better. Also make sure u have a perfect toss not to high not to low. toss the ball up, and don't move or catch it if it lands right in front of u without hitting u that's a good spot.  Hope I helped:)

  14. First off, you need to be confident that you can do it, and you really need to practice.  Serving really is a mental game!

But for the mechanics, toss the ball up in the opposite hand that you hit it with, and make sure that you toss it high enough so you have time to do a small approach and still contact it while high enough in the air.  Then once you toss it, you step forward with the foot opposite the hand you are hitting the ball with.  Then swing away.  You have to keep in mind to follow through, but don't snap your wrist as much as you do when you are hitting otherwise it will go right into the net.  Keep practicing this, and once you get good at it, if you want to be a stronger and more consistent server, quicken your arm swing.  You will see a big difference the first time you try it.  Good luck!
