  1. practice practice and more prctice do push ups to improve uper body strenght

  2. -summer volleyball training camps

    -private coaches

    -physical training/strength/agility/speed training

    -tons of practice

  3. well.. i play volleyball and thats when our school team starts back up

but you should go to a camp for about 2 weeks

or run..get your cardio up..make sure that you have a lot of stamina and endurance

    to work on your serve

practice tossing the ball at the perfect level for you

    then practice your swing..

but the most important thing is probably running and passing so i wish you the best of luck

  4. DO NOT RUN

Running for a extended period of time or for long distances will decrease your vertical jump

I currently play varsity volleyball(Mens) as a setter and depending on what position you play here are some drills.

Wall Sets - will strengthen your forearms muscle and youll be able to set outside from anywhere on the court (important for setter/rightside players)

Star drill - 5 cones 4 on the corners of the court one in the middle will increase your agility

The key to a hard swing in volleyball is not upper body strength its more about the perfect approach. **remember to PULL yourself up with your arms when you swing dont just swing your arms this will help you get on top of the ball**

I dont really do strength exercises i find that working the rubber bands is much more effective. Also if you are playing varsity volleyball you should be able to jump serve. Im always in my backyard tossing the ball up to myself and taking a 3-4 step approach on my jump serve. Jumping rope and Tuck jumps to increase your vertical. Peppering with a friend will help you with your control. If you are a passer/libero here are some words to live by, in serve receive if the other teams server is not jump serving take a step or two up and take the serve with your hands

These are all effective ways to become a better volleyball player.

    Good Luck

  5. u need 2 practice a lot and y cant i make it 2 conditionings

  6. You can purchase a cheap practice volleyball which is excellent for outdoor

practice.  Cheap because the outside skin has to be able to stand up to

the wear and tear of using it against outside walls, like brick or concrete.

Never use an expensive indoor volleyball for practice outside against hard

    surfaces.

For the single player - what you can practice is - to throw up the volleyball,

like it is for a 'set' and to go ahead and spike it - against a wall, so that

the angle and height you hit it, is like it is on a volleyball court.

A beginner is not confident about their spiking and timing - and so a lot of

practice against a wall, will drill you into doing excellent spikes naturally.

Use a bent elbow, which straightens for your spike - adding the curling of

your wrist upon contact with the volleyball, this is for adding spin.

You can see the spin working, when you do a spike serve (just hold the volleyball

above your head, and then spike/hit like your normal spike.  You do not need to

throw the volleyball up - for a spike serve) at the top of the net, and you

should then see that the volleyball will roll over the net, showing that your

    spinning is working.

The spin helps to bring the volleyball down, so that it will always land

in court, and also go over any blockers or even the net, if it is in the way.

You can practice the 'set' technique by yourself - by setting against a wall -

this can be inside or outside, just straight up - above your head.  This is

so to practice the fingering technique that is used.

You cannot practice digs (also called bumps) by yourself.  You really need

someone - either to throw the volleyball to you, and you bump it back to them,

and they can catch it - or just someone to dig with..

If you can practice with another volleyball player - that would be great.

You can then dig, set and spike at each other. The more players you have

practising the more fun it is.  Your ball handling skills will increase in

no time with regular practice - you will feel at ease when you can dig, set

and spike at each other - you don't need a net.  You'll soon develop your own

techniques for those balls which need to be saved - that falls between players.

The more practice you have - the more confident you will be.  Over any holiday

period, if you can practice with fellow volleyball players - you should find

that your skills can grow and grow.

  7. you can do contitioning at your home such as squats and moving your hand up and down the wall. also to improve your serving make sure you have your toss right and to strengthen your arm hit the ball at the ground or a wall.

  8. great question!  well, i would suggest exercising by running laps, doing push ups, and crunches(sit-ups).  also, i would suggest practicing by going to the park, using a volleyball, practice hitting it again the wall in the handball court.  if that still doesn't work, try seeing if any of your friends could play with a beach ball with you at the beach.  It will help you practice your strength for hitting the volleyball.  Trust me, by following what I just told you, you SHOULD get a little better at volleyball.

Good luck, and I hope you make the team!

  9. volleyball is all about power from the stomach. work on getting that strong.  then just work on hitting thee ball with the right parts of ur hand "Practice makes perfect!"

  10. "practice always makes perfect" like the old saying

  11. Practice.  You can't get better at anything unless you perform the activity over and over again.

Get a friend to "pepper" with you.

Practice setting with a basketball.  The extra weight will help build strength and when setting a volleyball it will be flawless.

Does your neighborhood have a "beach" volleyball court?  Try to find one around you that is active and pick up some games.  I used to play sun up to sun down and then go play indoors in a church for 4 more hours.

If you want to get better get out there and play.
